A Look At Our First IRL Event | Contempee Winter Showcase
It's a very exciting time at Contempee HQ. Not only are we seeing record sales from our recently released Christmas collection, we also hosted our first ever in real life event. An intimate and cosy affair held at the iconic Boathouse venue in London, Contempee's Winter Showcase was all about displaying our stunning winter collection, giving guests a chance to see our brand new products up close. With a range of interactive activities from flower arranging, to a Christmas craft station, to a branded tiramisu cart (because what kind of event doesn't have tiramisu?!), our first event kept guests busy from start to finish. But don't worry if you didn't make it, as we're giving you a peek behind the curtain throughout this blog post.
Bloom Bar
Would we even be a faux flower brand if we hosted an event without a bloom bar? The benefit of Contempee flowers is that they arrive to your doorstep pre-arranged, with the optional add on of a custom vase that has been designed specifically to fit your bouquet. In other words, we usually do all the hard work for you. But, flower arranging is fun! We wanted to give guests a sneak peek at our behind the scenes process, showing how we put together our bouquets, from selecting the individual stems to wrapping and tying off the final product. 
Our Bloom Bar was organised by each individual stem, allowing guests to pick and choose which stems they wanted and arrange them together into a bouquet, but not without a little guidance. Bouquet recipe cards were available, breaking down three of our bestselling bouquets: Eucalyptus and Winter White, Eucalyptus and Neutral Berry and Eucalyptus and Blue Berry. The recipe cards detailed exactly which stems made up each bouquet, allowing guests to easily follow along and create their very own Contempee bunch to take home with them. Wholesome, fun and creative - what's not to love! 
Christmas Craft Station
We thought long and hard about how best to showcase the versatility of our products, and with Christmas fast approaching it only made sense to create a festive craft station. Faux flowers offer endless opportunities for crafting. They can be used to make wreaths and garlands, used in gift wrapping to add a little flare or used to make hanging decorations. We chose the latter, using our faux foliage with satin and velvet ribbons, mini bells and dried oranges to make the cutest hanging decor. If you have faux foliage at home that you are not using, consider cutting it up to make these cute decorations.
Winter Showcase
Displaying our new collection was the main event. As a solely online business, giving people the opportunity to see our products up close is not something we are able to do often. Our first in person event was the perfect opportunity to do just that, using beautiful plynths to create stunning displays. The event was also a great opportunity to get instant feedback on our products, hearing guests first impressions. We wanted to use this experience to learn exactly what it is people love about Contempee products.
Venue
Perhaps the most important part of hosting an event is making sure you get the venue right. We wanted something that felt true to our brand - think quiet, comfortable luxury. That's where the Boathouse comes in. This unique and elegant event space in London provided the perfect setting for our winter showcase. The long and narrow layout of the boat allowed us to create an immersive walkway, surrounding guests with floral activities and beautiful flower displays at every turn.
